We enjoyed the historical shops, great food & ambiance of the gorgeous neighborhood. But most importantly our accomodations were lovely, clean & cozy. We could have stayed at the cottage the entire weekend without even leaving. Thank you for making my Mom's Birthday one of her most memorable ones!!

Our family stayed at the Main Street Guest House for 5 nights, and we couldn't have been more pleased with the stay! Our 5 sons, ages 11 down to 2, stayed in the upstairs bunk room -- they all loved it so much that they want us to build a room just like that at home for them. We don't normally allow much screen time, so they were thrilled to play Wii during some of the down time when were at the house relaxing. We were able to visit the Arch, a Cardinals game, the art museum, the zoo, and the Cathedral during our stay. We also enjoyed biking on the Katy Trail. The kids loved going to the ice cream shop two doors down, and I enjoyed visiting the shops on Main Street. We had some old college friends over one evening, and were able to entertain them comfortably at the house. The house was incredibly clean, and there were plenty of towels, dishes, and everything else we needed. Having the full kitchen and a laundry room are a "must" for our family, and these were clean and well-stocked. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit St Louis, everyone in the family had a fantastic stay and we highly recommend the Main Street Guest House!

Owner Response: Thank you for such a great review! We designed the Main Street Guest House with families in mind and are so glad you like it. We'd love to have you back!

    • The best place to stay for a St. Louis vacation!!

The Main Street Guest house is everything pictured and more. My family (2 adults/2 kids)had a Spring Break to remember while staying at the house. The house is SPOTLESS, wonderfully decorated, and Audrey and Matt have thought of everything. From the snacks left for us on the table, to the beverages in the refrigerator, we were well taken care of. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to prepare meals. We stayed in for dinner one night, after a long day, and I was able to cook a great meal. The kids loved upstairs bedroom with the bunk beds and the big tv. They played with Wii each night when we returned from our day out. St. Louis attractions are a short 30 min drive from the house, and it was great to return to this quiet spot, rather than stay in the city. We tried several different restaurants in St. Charles, and spent time walking on main street and in the park behind the house. When we left the house to head home we all agreed that we would be back.

The pictures really don't do this place justice. We thought the online photos were nice, but when we arrived we really noticed all the charm that the house had. We really felt at home from the time we walked in the door. The fresh flowers and goodie basket was a nice surprise as well! The home was very cozy and clean. All of the shops on Main Street were nice and if you are in the mood for great BBQ, I would recommend dining at Hendricks (just a few minutes away from the Guest House). One of the other great things about the Guest House is that you are just a few minutes away from some great attractions like, The St.Louis Arch, St.Louis museum, Grants Farm or if you want to catch a Cardinals,Rams or Blues game. I would definitely recommend staying at the Guest house in St.Charles!! (Also, the owners are very friendly and helpful in answering any questions you may have.) Thanks, Guest's of the Guest House

The owners look to have done a great job remodeling this place. There was room for the four of us to really spread out, kitchen was well stocked with new appliances, location in the middle of Main street was perfect. Nearby park and plenty of places to shop and eat. Drive to downtown St Louis was about 30 minutes and very easy to do, plus easy access to outer loop was nice. Owners were very pleasant and easy to work with, although we never saw them (very respectful of privacy). We would definitely stay here again.

Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home. The house was absolutely perfect!! My children were elated not to be cramped in a small hotel room again. This house was so neat. The bedroom upstairs was great for our 5 children ages 3 to 15. The girls shared the huge king size bed and the boys took the bunk beds. They thought it was so cool to have the rope lighting on each bunk. It made it so fun. The wii was also a terrific surprise. All the children enjoyed getting ice cream after dinner then playing on the wii with each other til bedtime. We do not have a wii so this was a big treat for them. The home was completely charming, so well decorated and quaint. We found the home to be way above our expectations from the fresh flowers on the table to the file folder with coupons and menus. The owners were extremely helpful in planning our sightseeing and dinning out by giving us suggestions their children enjoy. They were very attentive to every detail and prompt to call us back when one of the tv's had no picture, only sound. We will most definitely stay here again. In fact, I would plan my vacation around when this home is available just so I can stay here next time.

The green space just behind the house along the Missouri River was a great running space for kids. They also loved the "giant tub" in the Master suite. The town was unique and fun, did some local shopping and dined at local restaurants. LOVED the ice cream shop next to the Guest House, we visited it daily, great ice cream and fudge. Visited the St Louis Zoo, City Museum, Arch and the beautiful fountains of downtown St Louis. Also visited Anheuser-Busch, all had a great time. The renovations were all done to perfection, and the creativity in the use of the space made it seem extra spacious. There were fabulous bunk beds upstairs that were built in with lighting. There was also a queen bed in that room that was built in. The bathrooms had dual shower heads and separate toilet areas. The downstairs master suite was a romantic getaway all in itself! It had a fireplace, jacuzzi tub and mood lighting. Really this place lacked nothing and could be your regular vacation spot. If we lived closer it would be ours! We'd come here several times a year! Don't forget to visit the Arch which is only 20 minutes away! Thank you to these hosts for a wonderful stay for our family of seven!!!!
